A.J. Crofford moves to Director of Marketing and Principal Management; VHM hires two new sales managers

Conshohocken, PA Van Horn, Metz is pleased to announce the promotion of A.J. Crofford to Director of Marketing and Principal Management and the hire of two new sales managers – Greg Thielen and Chrissy Malette. Greg will be taking over the Midwest sales territory and Chrissy will be focusing on Cosmetic application accounts in the Southeast.

“A.J. Crofford has been promoted to Director of Marketing and Principal Management,” said Andy Romano, VP & Director of Sales. “In this new role, A.J. will be responsible for all of our marketing and promotional efforts and ensuring that our efforts are aligned with the goals of our principals.”

A.J. started with VHM in August of 2018 as the Midwest Sales Manager and resides in Canton, OH. He holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Allegheny College and is currently working on a Masters of Business Administration at The Ohio State University.

Greg Thielen began his career as a Technical Sales Representative with BASF Corporation. He specialized in formulating new colors for automotive coatings, and implementing color information systems and blending/tinting systems at a manufacturing facility. In 1997, Greg became a Regional and Global Key Account Manager within BASF/Englehard/Sun Chemical focusing on all pigment chemistries. He served as a Sales Team Lead within the effect pigment market and introduced new products into automotive applications.

Greg resides in central Michigan with his family. He earned a Masters of Business Administration from University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Oakland University, and an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Oakland Community College.

Chrissy has a strong background in customer service and account management. She began her career in 1994 as a store manager at Peach State Paging and Cellular before moving on to run the customer service department at Clique Here in 2004. Chrissy’s initial focus at VHM will be on cosmetic accounts in the Southeast.

Chrissy holds a BS in Human Services from Purdue University and currently resides outside of Atlanta, GA with her family.

“We are excited to have Greg and Chrissy join our team,” Romano said. “Chrissy will be primarily focusing on the cosmetic products area. Greg Joins us from BASF and has many years of experience in the coatings industry, especially working with pigments.”
