Light Stabilizers (UV Absorbers)
- BLS® 1130
It is a liquid UV absorber providing excellent protection against ultraviolet degradation in coatings, including automotive and industrial coatings, paints, and wood stains. It is ideal for use in both water- and solvent-based systems. Combinations of BLS 1130 with hindered amine light stabilizers such as BLS 292 often provide significantly enhanced performance, providing maximum long-term protection against blistering, color change, cracking, gloss reduction, and delamination. BLS 1130 is also ideal for use in other applications where a liquid UV absorber is preferred, including polyurethanes, adhesives, sealants, liquid color concentrates, elastomers, styrenic polymers, acrylics, PVB, flexible PVC, polyesters, polycarbonates and polyolefins.
- BLS® 1326
It is useful for the light stabilization of plastics, including polyolefins, cold-curing unsaturated polyesters and others.
- BLS® 1328
It is used in the light stabilization of a wide range of plastics, including polyolefins, polyurethanes, PVC, acrylics, styrenic polymers, unsaturated polyesters, and others. It is also useful in the light stabilization of adhesives and solvent-based coatings.
- BLS® 1710
It is useful for the light stabilization of a wide range of plastics, including PVC, styrenic polymers, unsaturated polyesters, acrylics, and polyvinyl butyral. Specialty applications include adhesives, sealants, epoxy resins, and elastomers.
- BLS® 234
It is especially suited for polymers processed at high temperatures, such as polycarbonates, polyesters, and others. In polyolefins, it has low volatility at high temperatures and high resistance to thermal degradation for compounding and molding applications. It is ideal for applications of high surface area, such as films and fibers. It is also useful in the light stabilization of solvent-based coatings and powder coatings.
- BLS® 2908
It is a benzoate-type light stabilizer recommended for use in combination with HALS and (optionally) UV absorbers in polyolefins. Potential applications include polypropylene and TPO thick-section parts and polyethylene (HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE) moldings, films, and tapes.
- BLS® 3035
It is a highly effective to improve the light stability of a wide range of plastics, including styrenic polymers (ABS, ASA, HIPS), PVC (rigid and flexible), polyesters, polyamides, polyurethanes, and acrylics. The product is also useful as a light stabilizer in adhesives and coatings applications. Due to its inherently non-discoloring nature, BLS 3035 is ideal for use in transparent or light-colored substrates. It is also non-interacting with reactive monomers (e.g. isocyanates) and metal-based polymerization catalysts. It is also suitable for use in combination with optical brighteners.
- BLS® 531
It is useful for the light stabilization of plastics, including polyolefins (polypropylene, polyethylene, EVA), flexible PVC, acrylics, linear and unsaturated polyesters, polycarbonates, and others. Specialty applications include adhesives, sealants, and in coatings with moderate weatherability requirements. Combinations of BLS 531 with HALS show synergistic performance and are recommended in polyethylene and EVA agricultural films as well as in polypropylene and HDPE thick section applications.
- BLS® 5411
It is useful for the light stabilization of plastics, including in polyesters, rigid and flexible PVC, styrenic polymers, acrylics, polycarbonates and polyvinyl butyral during outdoor weathering. Typical end use applications include molded items, extruded sheets, glazing materials for window lighting, signs, marine and automotive applications. Specialty applications include coatings (polyester gel coats), photographic products, sealants, and elastomers.
- BLS® 99-2
It is a liquid UV absorber providing excellent protection against ultraviolet degradation in coatings, including automotive and industrial coatings, paints, and wood stains. It is ideal for use in both water- and solvent-based systems. Combinations of BLS 99-2 with hindered amine light stabilizers such as BLS 292 often provide significantly enhanced performance, providing maximum long-term protection against blistering, color change, cracking, gloss reduction, and delamination.
