Kaolin Clay
- Kaorock™
Metakaolin concrete additive provides significant increases in flexural and compressive strength, reduces or eliminates ASR, enhances concrete durability, reduces permeability and improves handling and color matching.
- SK-T 13
SK-T 13 is a delaminated clay that helps improve the rheology of the paint system and reduce cracking of the paint upon drying. SK-T 13 also improves the opacity of the paint system and enamel hold out. This product is most suited for water-based paints and coatings.
- SK-T 15
This very fine particle size kaolin clay exhibits excellent brightness, providing for good tint strength and opacity. SK-T 15 is suited for water-based paint systems where high holdout and gloss are desired. SK-T 15 can be used with other clay products, particularly SK-T 16 as part of a TiO2 extender package.
- SK-T 16
This fully calcined, high brightness kaolin clay has excellent optical properties and low abrasion. SK-T 16, when added to a paint formulation, will allow for the greatest reduction in TiO2 compared to other kaolin clays. SK-T 16 also has better light scattering, thereby improving whiteness and opacity, allowing it to cost effectively replace more expensive white pigments. SK-T 16 is ideally suited for use in both waterborne and solvent paint formulations.
- SK-T 22
SK-T 22 is a fine particle size kaolin clay with exceptional brightness, gloss, and whiteness. This product is designed for water-based paints and coatings.
- SK-T 27
This water-washed, coarse kaolin clay is perfect for architectural coatings and e-coat primers. Its low oil absorption will allow for higher loadings in paints and coatings. SK-T 27 is designed for use in water-based systems. Its large particle size, whiteness, and low oil absorption combine to make it a cost-effective filler.
- SK-T 42
SK-T 27 is a coarse clay with a high aspect ratio designed for use in glass reinforced thermosets such as pultrusion profiles, sheet molding compound, and bulk molding compound. Its larger particle size and purity ensure low resin demand and the ability to aid in glass and fiver carrying and mold flow. In the curing and end use, SK-T 27 will help reducing crazing and shrinkage and assists in moderating the exotherm.
- SK-T 49
SK-T 49 is a naturally fine-particle size product that can be easily dispersed in solvent or waterborne paint formulations.
- SK-T 63
SK-T 63 is a cost-effective, low brightness, moderately fine particle size filler clay. SK-T 63 can help improve viscosity, opacity, whiteness and barrier properties and will help reduce slump. This product is best suited for water-based systems.
